Technical Department - MINASUL
The technical department is composed of agronomists focused on the sustainability of the properties that serves hundreds of memebrs in the field and in Minasul headquarters. All farms participating in the program are social and environmental responsibles.
Services offered:
01 - Diagnosis and suggestions on property management
It is usually accomplished on the first visit to the property. The main objective is to make the survey of the main characteristics of the farm, verifying the crops, improvements, human and financial resources. These data are confronted with average indicators of the region and analysis a report is made pointing out suggestions.
02 - Property Mapping
The cooperative has trained professionals and equipment (GPS and Rural Sat) capable of performing all topography services, such as maps detailing areas of coffee, pasture, weeds, APP, Legal Reserve according to the requirements of environmental agencies.
03 - Characterization of the coffee plantation
Through the characterization of coffee plantations, we can verify the names, age, variety, number of holes, spacing, area, production and productivity of fields and property. It is used as a technical report for CPR in Sicoob Credivar.
04 - Soil collection and data interpretation
Proper soil analysis and interpretation can reduce the cost of producing coffee by more than twenty percent by reducing fertilization and increasing productivity.
05 - Fertilizer planning
It is based on the soil analysis, the average productivity and the parameters developed by the research centers. It looks for the source and formula that most meets the criteria of cost/benefit.
06 - Pruning and renovation planning
Both the pruning and the renovation of crops must be done with planning. The type, the season of pruning and the cultural dealings can influence much in the productivity and the cost of production. For the renewal of crops, the current productivity, the ease of harvest and the age of the crop should be considered.
07 - Phytosanitary planning
Once the disease or pest diagnosis is made, the technicians has access to the level of economic damage and the need to use chemicals. Products with the lowest cost / benefit and proven efficiency are indicated.
08 - Harvest forecast
The harvest forecast is made from the flowering to the beginning of the harvest. Its use serves several purposes, among them the production cost budget and Reports for CPR. Sicoob Credivar is our partner.
09 - Management and control of weed
Correct weed control brings numerous benefits to coffee and the environment, as well as reducing the cost of production. It is sought to maintain the weed scrubbed in the rainy season and to use herbicide only before laying.
10 - Leaf collection and interpretation of data
Leaf analysis is a great tool to balance soil and leaf fertilization, contributing to its efficiency.
11 - Financial management
The technical department has a program to calculate the cost of producing coffee and for budgets. It is a decisive factor for the success of the activity.

13 - Environmental guidelines and certifications
The professionals of the department are always up to date on environmental issues and certifiers, offering producers all the necessary technical support.
14 - Technical support in buying and selling products from the store
The choice of products to be purchased by the store always passes through the technical department, guaranteeing efficient products of lower cost.
15 - Planning the harvest and preparation of coffee
They are guidelines in the design of the workforce, harvesting structure, machinery, equipment and post-harvest, contributing a lot to the good quality of the coffee.
16 - Technical support to the board of directors
Link between the cooperative and the board, sends suggestions and criticisms from the cooperative.
17 - Equipment Regulation
The correct regulation of equipment, such as sprayers, herbicide applicators and fertilizers, increases the efficiency of products and reduces the cost of production.
18 - Training of producers and rural workers on the correct use of pesticides, equipment regulations, use of EPIS, packaging disposal, pest and disease monitoring.
